The Palladian house is a National Trust site and has been home to the Dashwood family for over years. It is surrounded by 45 acres of landscaped park. Both the house and park are open to the public.
It is a 19th-century country house set in four acres of seaside grounds. The ornate pier that Margaret and Henry go walking along is in fact Swanage Pier — it has been restored from the Victorian era and is located in Dorset. This scene was filmed at the ruins of Waverley Abbey in Surrey, where a group of monks founded a monastery almost years ago that sits alongside the River Wey.
Myddelton Square needed to be seen in two seasons and filmed twice. Myddelton Square was perhaps the most complicated with taking out 60 parking bays, six-day road closure for full street dressing and day and night scenes to be filmed. There was plenty of letter dropping, a residents meeting in the local church which only attracted three people and group texts to residents when the camera was pointing at their houses.
Overall, after out two visits we managed to keep all residents happy but perhaps not the cyclists who use this square to ride into the city who had to endure a diversion or long holds for shot!
Australia House was used as the interior of an insurance company. A minimum spend of GBP1 million per broadcast hour is required to access the incentive. Click here to register your attendance. Pathways lead to different seating and grassed areas making the most of the sun throughout the day.

Nothing screams 80s like those! I just adore this house and I think of all the Hooked on Houses posts, by far this one is my favorite.
Thank you Julia for featuring this house, it is a dream. It is such a warm homey place that is very large, but I can tell it is well-loved by every inch of home decor details. I think this place will sell fast unless this is common in this part of England. What a gorgeous home! Oh my goodness, that is a gorgeous home. Julia, thank you for brightening my day! Thank you Julia.
